The Lunar Society by Dr Sally Dickinson
25 January 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This talk will throw light on a remarkable group of friends including Erasmus Darwin, Matthew Boulton, James Watt, Josiah Wedgwood and Joseph Priestley who began meeting monthly on the Sunday nearest a full moon. They shared the same passion for exploring means of advancing medicine, engineering and manufacturing. They are regarded as the Fathers of the Industrial Revolution and their Society was based in Birmingham from about 1765 to the end of the century .
All Winter Lectures are held at Christchurch Hall in Avenue Road, Great Malvern, unless otherwise stated.
Lectures begin at 7.30 and admission is free to Friends of Malvern Museum or £2 for visitors.
Refreshments are served at the end of the evening for a small charge.
