Lecture: The Blind Postmaster General and the Suffragist by Alan Godfrey

25 April @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Share

This talk will focus on the lives of two remarkable people from the past. Henry Fawcett MP lost his sight when he was 25 but this did not prevent his political career or his successful academic career.  He married the well known Millicent Garrett who would go on to lead Britain’s largest women’s rights association, the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies in the early part of the 20th century.

This promises to be a fascinating talk as we come face to face with deep personal convictions and great bravery.
