Lecture: Malvern’s Victorian Boarding Houses by Faith Renger
28 November @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
£3.00Malvern’s 19th century boarding houses offered style, comfort and often the latest in technology, and attracted clientele from the higher rungs in society. Why did Malvern have so many boarding houses and attract so many well-to-do families? What hazards lurked in these fashionable homes that put fear into the boarding house keepers if discovered?
All Winter Lectures are held at Christchurch Hall in Avenue Road, Great Malvern, unless otherwise stated.
Lectures begin at 2.30 and admission is free to Friends of Malvern Museum or £3 for visitors.
Refreshments are served during the meeting for a small charge.
